Dr. Douglas Kerr is interested in recruiting physicians and allied health to serve at the Boy Scout Jamboree starting July 15, 2013. Volunteers would be in one of 5 large encampments each with 2 medical centers. This is the first jamboree at the new site in West Virginia called the Summitt Bechtel Reserve. The dates of the Jamboree are July 15, 2013 to July 24, 2013, and generally the staff arrives 3-5 days ahead of the scouts. Thus you would need to donate two weeks time to serve.
The medical centers are medium level emergency centers with the capability of ACLS to over night observation, to treating blisters, GI upset and home sickness. The staff works in a collaborative style with everyone pitching in to take care of the scouts and leaders expeditiously and with a great deal of team work. The jamboree will literally be on a mountain top so one must be in reasonably good physical condition. It is important to sign up soon. If you would like more information please contact Dr. Kerr at firstname.lastname@example.org. By cell phone at 607 725 3703. See also: https://summit.scouting.org/en/ Jamboree2013/Pages/default.aspx
